Questions

Blinds FAQ

Something else? Call (603) 216-5055 or send us a note and we'll call you back.

What drives the price?
Hunter Douglas prices each window on the same things: its size, the blind you pick, the material, the control (corded, cordless or motorized) and any options you add. That's why we measure before we quote. The estimate is free.
Wood or faux wood?
Real wood (Parkland®) for most rooms. Faux wood (EverWood®) for kitchens and bathrooms, since Hunter Douglas makes it to stand up to humidity and the sun. Hold both at the showroom before you decide.
Can I add motorization later?
Plan for it up front if you can. Hunter Douglas says its products can only be converted or resized during the first year you own them, and asks you to work with your original dealer. If you think you'll want motors, say so at the consult and we'll plan for it.
Which blinds are safest with kids and pets?
Go cordless. Parkland® and Modern Precious Metals® come cordless, and EverWood® comes with cordless LiteRise®. Hunter Douglas says its cordless options remove free-hanging or exposed operating cords. Custom vertical blinds use a safety wand.
What happens at the free in-home consult?
We call to pick a time, then come to your house with samples. We look at the light in each room, ask how you use it, and measure every window ourselves. The estimate is free. If you'd rather start in person, the showroom is at 254 N Broadway, Unit 104, Salem, NH. Bring a photo of your windows.

Hold a slat in your hand at the showroom. Then we come measure.
