Which shutter for which room

Older house with an arched or angled window? Heritance® hardwood shutters come in arches, angles, trapezoids and rounds, and we measure every window ourselves.

In a New Hampshire winter, Hunter Douglas points to the natural insulating properties of wood and the air barrier inside vinyl shutters.

Want slats that raise all the way up? See blinds. For soft fabric, see shades or drapery.

Questions

Shutters FAQ

Something else? Call (603) 216-5055 or send us a note and we'll call you back.

What drives the price?
Hunter Douglas prices each window on the same things: its size, the shutter you pick, the material, how it opens and tilts and any options you add. That's why we measure before we quote. The estimate is free.
Wood, vinyl or composite?
Hardwood (Heritance®) for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. Vinyl (Palm Beach™) where there's water, since Polysatin™ is water resistant. Composite (NewStyle®) when you want the wood look with extra durability.
Can I add motorization later?
Only on Palm Beach™, and only early. Heritance® and NewStyle® aren't offered with PowerView®. Hunter Douglas says its products can only be converted or resized during the first year you own them, and asks you to work with your original dealer. If you might want motorized louvers, tell us at the consult.
Are shutters safe with kids and pets?
Yes. Hunter Douglas describes shutters as completely cord-free, so there's no cordless upgrade to choose.
What happens at the free in-home consult?
We call to pick a time, then come to your house with samples. We look at the light in each room, ask how you use it, and measure every window ourselves. The estimate is free. If you'd rather start in person, the showroom is at 254 N Broadway, Unit 104, Salem, NH. Bring a photo of your windows.

See the shutters at the showroom. Then we come measure.
