What drives the price?
Hunter Douglas prices each window on the same things: its size, the drapery you pick, the fabric, the control (corded, cordless or motorized) and any options you add. That's why we measure before we quote. The estimate is free.
Can drapery make a room dark?
Hunter Douglas offers drapery in blackout fabrics, and Carole Fabrics drapery takes room-darkening liners. We bring samples to the consult so you can see them in your own room.
Can I add motorization later?
Plan for it up front if you can. Hunter Douglas says its products can only be converted or resized during the first year you own them, and asks you to work with your original dealer. If you think you'll want motors, say so at the consult and we'll plan for it.
Which drapery is safest with kids and pets?
Choose a cordless control. Hunter Douglas lists PowerView® motorization among its cordless options, and Carole Fabrics drapery, Luminette® and Provenance® vertical drapery all offer it. On Luminette®, the traveling wand is another option Hunter Douglas calls safer for small children and pets.
What happens at the free in-home consult?
We call to pick a time, then come to your house with samples. We look at the light in each room, ask how you use it, and measure every window ourselves. The estimate is free. If you'd rather start in person, the showroom is at 254 N Broadway, Unit 104, Salem, NH. Bring a photo of your windows.
